If you have acne or have an acne-prone skin, you should know the following: ¹

Group 176

Clean your skin gently. Use a mild facial wash in the morning, in the evening, and after heavy exercise. Rinse your skin with lukewarm water.

Group 178

Shampoo your hair regularly, especially if you have oily hair.

Group 177

Shave carefully & gently. Make sure the blade is sharp, and soften the hair with soap and water before applying shaving cream to reduce the risk of nicking blemishes.

Group 188

Use sunscreen. Many of the medicines used to treat acne can make you more prone to sunburn.

Group 181

Choose cosmetics carefully. All cosmetics and hair care products should be oil free. Choose products labeled non comedogenic.

Group 185

Don’t rub skin lesions. Squeezing or picking blemishes can cause scars or dark blotches to develop.

Group 187

Do not do suntanning.

Group 186

Do not use strong soaps, astringents or rough scrub pads.
